Brandy1yearoldYou may or may not know that I have a lovely Cavoodle named Brandy. She’s now 15 months old and she needs a play mate.

She’s quite an active wee girl and loves her long morning walks but when I try to write she’s at me the whole time. When I sit at my desk to work she will sit quietly underneath it, but I do most of my writing using a lap desk as it’s better for my neck and shoulders. When I’m sitting on my bed or on the sofa writing, she believes it’s time to play.

I have been taking her to doggie day care two days a week and she loves it there with the other dogs. Then, when I was visiting with my Dad in Canada, they have two dogs and I saw the friendship and thought Brandy needs a brother.

I live in the country and we have a huge section and it would be really fun for her to have a little friend. I’ve found a black and white male Cavoodle and I pick him up on 26 August. He will be 18 weeks old when I get to collect him, and I need a name for him.

I googled the top 50 male dog names and there are quite a few I like. So many in fact, I can’t pick one. What do you think the little puppy’s name should be? He’s a Cavoodle too, and black and white.

I shall select one person who leaves a comment with a name suggestion either here or on my Facebook page, as a winner and they will win an autographed copy of WORTH ANY PRICE by Lisa Kleypas.

Open internationally, closes on August 26th 2015. You can enter as many times as you’d like either in the comments below or on my Facebook post.

Dear Readers

I don’t know if you’ve heard but I took ownership of my new puppy, Brandy Snap, on Thursday. She’s a Cavoodle, a Cavalier King Charles Poodle Cross. She’s only 8.5 weeks old and she’s tiny. The problem is, I’m on deadline and I’m way behind. Life has got in the way the last 2 months with very sick relatives and close friends in hospital etc.

I had to collect her from a breeder 2.5 hours drive away and Brandy was so good in the car. She cried a little bit and then went to sleep. She wasn’t car sick at all! In fact, when I had to put her back in the travel crate to go to puppy pre-school that same night, she didn’t whimper at all. She passed with flying colors at puppy pre-school, learning to sit very 2

She’s settling in well. We’re having a few toilet issues but she is learning to go on the paper. She is not sleeping well, which is therefore keeping me awake too. She cries in her bed at night. She’s starting to explore the house bit by bit, but is still very nervous and of course she follows me everywhere, like she’s become my shadow.

So, my writing buddy and critique partner, Gracie O’Neil has kindly come to ‘puppy sit’.

Now that Brandy has a puppy sitter, I’m about to head back into my writing den and try to finish A Touch of Passion – book #3 in my Disgraced Lords series, releasing 9 December 2014

Wish me and Brandy luck, and thank you, thank you, Gracie!

PS. any tips on Puppy training would be appreciated.
