About the Book
A scandalous love letter is accidentally delivered to the wrong earl—and he assumes the woman he’s secretly wanted for years wrote it.
Lady Bethany Carter has one simple task: return her friend’s scandalous love letter before anyone reads it. But when her overeager maid delivers it by mistake to James Spencer, the Earl of Kendall, her brother’s closest friend and the man Beth has spent two years trying not to think about, simple becomes impossible.
James has read every sensuous word, and he’s convinced it was written by Beth, for a rival he means to vanquish. He’ll keep the letter until Christmas Eve, he tells her, and in the meantime he intends to court her.
Beth can’t tell him the truth without betraying her friend, and she won’t marry any man, least of all James, for a tidy alliance of families. She wants his heart, and she has only three weeks to win it.
