Beta Readers
Want to Beta Read for Bron?
What’s that I hear you ask?
In the software industry, programmers release “beta” versions of new programs that they get a select group of users to test. This way, any kinks can be worked out before it becomes available to the public.
When it comes to publishing, the concept is the same, except the product being tested is a book, and the hopeful outcome is that potential negative reader reactions can be anticipated before publication. If authors are not sure which aspects of their book are working, this is a chance to find out and fix any issues!
In particular, as a beta reader you could tell me if a character is flat, or if my world rules don’t make sense, or if a plotline is confusing. Any of these issues take away the entertainment value of my story and leave readers feeling disappointed. A beta reader exists to minimize reader disappointment when I release my book.
In exchange, you get an eBook copy of the final published version, an acknowledgement in the front of the book, and the satisfaction that you’ve helped shape the story and made it such a success.
So, if you have time, and you think you can help, sign up below. I’ll add you to my beta readers list and contact you when a book is ready for you to provide feedback on. That’s likely to be 2-4 books per year. Some long and some short.
And…thank you! I can’t do this without your help!!
