I have had lovely reviews posted on Amazon (both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk) and Goodreads for my latest release ( and first self-published Regency romance). Here is my favourite: By

This review is from: To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield (Wicked Wagers BK1-Regency Romance) Long Novella (Kindle Edition)
Looking for a relaxing yet absorbing read as an antidote to a wet weekend, I had the good fortune to come across Bronwen Evans' alliteratively named 'To Dare the Duke of Dangerfield.' This is the tale of the often desperate intrigues entered into by Lady Caitlin Southhall in order to keep her much loved home and matriarchal inheritance, Mansfield Manor, from the clutches of the apparently darstardly Duke, Harlow Telford. But is Harlow quite the unprincipled aristocrat he at first appears? What really lies beneath his behaviours and attitudes? Much of the novella's charm lies in the unfolding of the personalities and motivations of both Harlow and Caitlin, not to mention their unbridled passion for each other. As for Caitlin, I enjoyed her feisty resourcefulness in her battles against the strictures of her time, poverty, the Duke and the sheer awfulness of her father. Her daring to dare was convincingly brave. The sparks which flew between her and Harlow and erupted into a major passion, drew on multiple layers of meaning and motivations. Bronwen Evans is a storyteller par excellence. She cleverly has her two leading characters encountering each other prior to the commencement of the story. This allows for depth and perspective in the novella so that it seemed a longer story than it actually was. In fact, the story's plot, subplots and characterisation give a richness and raciness to the story which keeps the reader involved and interested right until the end. The surprise ending was effective and convincing. I entitled this review naughty and indeed it is, but it is also nicely naughty-and to find out why, have a read for yourself and look into the hearts and mindsets of the two main characters in particular, as they evolve throughout the story! So thank you to those readers who feel moved to write reviews. It has certainly made this author's day! Week! Year!... |

I'm always amazed at how generous readers are. They not only spend their time and money on a book, they also spend time reviewing them. Whether a review is good or bad, a reader has taken their time to write about a book. That always indicates you have struck a chord with a reader's emotions - in a good way is preferred!
