Kim is the lucky winner of Emma's Twice Fallen. I've emailed her. It's my pleasure to welcome historical author, Emma Wildes. I love Emma's books. Emma's, Lessons from a Scarlet Lady is one of the best historical romances I've read. I loved it! Award-winning author Emma writes for NAL's Signet Eclipse line but she started in e-publishing where she has garnered an Eppie, a Lories Best Published, and a WisRWA Reader's Choice Award. She has been a # 1 bestselling author at Fictionwise, Capa nominee, and received several gold star awards from JERR. Recently, Publisher's Weekly said of An Indecent Proposition (Signet, April 2009) that it provides a spectacular and skillfully handled story that stands head and shoulders above the average historical. Hi Emma...I also think a little birdie told me it's your birthday today, Emma, 18th June! HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Hi Bronwen, thanks for having me guest blog on your Invitation to Romance tour. I have to admit I adore romance novels. Hmm, I’m not sure why the attraction exists; I swear it isn’t entirely escapism. Part of it, maybe… Over the years (I have written one or two…maybe a few more than that; I have the best job in the world) I think that during the process of getting to know my heroes and heroines I (and we do get to know each other as their story becomes clear to me) I have found to my amazement that not one sort of hero is more appealing than another, and the same applies to the main female character When I say this in front of my husband, he looks at me as if I have lost my mind. “You wrote the book,” he points out over dinner, waving his fork in the air. “You have complete control over what they do.” In Twice Fallen, the second in the Ladies In Waiting series, I had the pleasure of discovering Damien Northfield’s story. Readers wrote to me to ask for it (thank you!), and I was curious too, so it was a delight to write. This September, Ruined by Moonlight debuts a new series and it was fabulous to introduce Benjamin Wallace, the Earl of Heathton, ex-spy turned husband turned respectable aristocrat, confounded by his spirited wife (he didn’t anticipate that, neither of us did) and coerced into looking into the disappearance of a debutante who happens to be the toast of the ton. Reluctantly he embarks on the task of finding the winsome Lady Elena, and with even more trepidation, he confronts the challenge flung down by his beautiful bride. Sparks flew. Perfect! I couldn’t wait to get up every morning, sit down in front of my computer, and find out how he was going to handle it all. He did an admirable job, by the way <smile> But please don’t tell him, his troubles are not quite over…though I do wonder what they are… Happy reading!
Twice Fallen - Women in Regency society are expected to wed young, run a household, and be seen, not heard. But then, these ladies hardly ever do what’s expected.... Lady Lillian Bourne can’t afford another scandal. Re-entering society after her disastrous elopement four years ago, she has no choice but to be the very picture of propriety. But she’s convinced fate is conspiring against her when she finds herself locked in a library with a handsome ex-spy during a party. It would ruin everything if she were to fall from grace a second time… After the years he spent in Spain as a spy, Lord Damien Northfield finds London a bit tedious—until his unexpected encounter with the lovely but notorious Lily. Even after their misadventure in the library, he can’t stop wishing their interlude had been less than innocent. And when he’s enlisted to investigate a scheme of blackmail and murder involving some of England’s most prominent families, he’s thrilled to discover that fate has put her in his path again—and that she might be the key to catching a ruthless killer… Emma |

in a novel. That is rather enlightening. They are as individual as any person who is not a product of an author’s imagination, and this might sound odd, but each one of them teaches me something and they never, ever fail to surprise me.
Emma has kindly donated Twice Fallen, her January 2012 release, as a prize today. Simply tell her what supporting character you've recently read, who you'd love to see get their own story.

If hero have brother and sister i will love to see their own story
I have loved the character Fellows in the MacKenzie series by Jennifer Ashley from the first time we meet him in The Madness of Lord Ian MacKenzie and discover he is actually their illegitimate half-brother. I can't wait to read his story as he no doubt will have all of the MacKenzie brothers AND their wives interfering in his love life.

ohhh Me too - I was hoping that now she can self-pubish she might finish the series. Have you asked her?
I have been binge reading Harlequin Intrigues and Romances lately. Most are single title books. I have been too busy to get buried in a longer book, so have been doing quick and easy reads. Still good, but not many have supporting characters that are developed enough to build interest in a follow-up book.
The last series I read was Stella Cameron's COURT OF ANGELS. There were other paranormal families involved, in particular the Fortune Family, that has possibilities. I really enjoyed this series and would love to go back to her New Orleans.
I read Jennifer Blake's MASTERS AT ARMS series in 1840s New Orleans was wonderful. I hated to see it end. There were several characters there that could have carried on the series.
Recently, Julie James published About That Night. She has several secondary characters that could have their own book, such as Cade.
Another new author for me to read. I love hearing about books you love, as it introduces me to new books to read.
